Nowadays, there are many ways to download music. Some people think that the music industry suffers from this, while others claim that illegal downloads do not affect artists and musicians.

I strongly believe that downloading music from the Internet illegally has a negative effect on people who make music. Firstly, creating music tracks requires a lot of effort and time. Artists, singers and people associated with music work extremely hard to create a good sound, improve the melody, rhythm and notes. Many professionals are involved in recording songs and the profit from sales of their songs is a payment for their work, time and professionalism. Sometimes, they do not receive proper rewards for their work because of illegal downloads.

Secondly, official partners who work with artists suffer from illegal music download sites. There are a lot of music platforms such as iTunes, YouTube music and BOOM that cooperate with artists. They have a license and rights to publish music, this brings profit to artists and companies who post and sell music on the Internet. However, many unofficial sites offer to download music for free and music platforms can lose their users.

However, there are people who claim that that illegal Internet downloads have no consequences for musicians. They think that artists have many sources of income such as income from concerts and performances, participation in advertising, and some of them run their own businesses. Therefore, the sale of their music products on the Internet is a small part of their income. Singers and artists remain famous when people download their music for free from illegal resources.

I cannot agree with the viewpoint above. I think that selling songs on online platforms is very important for artists, it brings them large amounts of money and gives them the opportunity to develop their creativity. The possibility of illegally downloading music is a big problem for an artist, it can prevent his/her development, discourage him/her and his/her career can end.

All in all, I still believe that illegal downloading of music effect on artists negatively. People should pay for songs because it is the result of the work of musicians and people associated with the music industry, it requires a lot of effort, talent, time and money and also it is an indicator of the artist's development.
