Thanks for your letter. It was great to hear from you again. Sorry, I haven't written sooner, I've been busy with my school studies.

I'll be glad to answer your questions. Firstly, the last film I saw was "August Rush". It's about little boy, who appeared to be musical genius. Secondly, it impressed me, because of touching story and amazing actors. Finally, I would like to play a role of an extraordinary person, for example, historical figure. It'd be really challenging and interesting.

By the way, it's great that you'll take part in a chess tournament. How long have you been playing chess? What is the prize for winning the competition? Are you nervous?

It is better to read a book than watch its screen version.

Literature and film are both the greatest forms of art. However, more and more people neglect books and prefer watching their film version. The question is whether it is a positive tendency or not.

In my opinion, nothing can be compared with the original piece of mastership. Firstly, reading books enhances our level of culture and develop imagination. It is like the second reality that helps to escape from daily routine. And films do not give us such opportunity. Secondly, no one can express the massage of the book better than its own creator.

Nonetheless, many people claim that films have more advantages than books. Watching films consume less time and it is more enjoyable. If they have the same plot with the book, it is better to watch the film.

I disagree with this view. I think that director of a film gives his own interpretation of the book. So the meaning of it is distorted. Usually it happens because there is impossible to explain everything in two hours of time-study.

To sum up, everybody is free to choose whatever they like, but I consider books being the best way to increase our intellectual abilities and skills. Their screen versions do not give us such opportunity.
