Space exploration — was it the greatest achievement or the worst mistake? (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

Discovering of space serves a great topic to discuss and to make controversies of for both ordinary people and validated scientists. A fair share of them think that space discovering was the best achievement of the last century, while the rest are sure that it was the greatest fail for everyone of us, for our planet and especially for the further generation.

What concerns me, space exploration was an important event for humanity which jump-started the development of the whole world of ours very much, and I have several reasons to prove that. First of all, it is well known that scientists were at last able to observe the Earth itself and get more information about it. Secondly, it is considered that synoptics can predict the weather cataclysms and thus avoid them and their consequences as much as possible. Finally, the whole world now has a possibility to spectate the other planets for different purposes.

There is also another side of the coin.

For example, some people think that space is dangerous by its X-rays that are harmful for us and cause unwanted mutations. They are also sure that space investigation is a very expensive thing for our society.

Despite that fact, I still think that space has a lot more advantages that disadvantages as it, in general, makes our lives a bit more easy in some way.

To sum up, I would like to emphasize that space was and still is a significant breakthrough for humanity. Most of us do not even realize how much it can bring to us and how much it simplifies our genesis.
