Sightseeing has always been one of the most popular activities for holiday-makers. Some people believe that tourists should search for the information about famous attractions they are planning to visit, while others disagree with them.

In my opinion, I consider reading about historical sites before sightseeing to be a waste of time. There are a few reasons for that. Firstly, there are specially educated guides who can tell you about these landmarks in the most professional way. Secondly, knowing facts about the sites can ruin your feeling of excitement and expectations to discover something new. Moreover, you might get bored on the spot seeing and hearing things that you have already seen and learnt yourself .

However, there are people who support a different opinion claiming that travellers should come to the place well prepared.

They explain that when people read the information beforehand, they can spend their sightseeing time more effectively, take better shots and ask the guides for the information they could not get from other sources.

Personally, I do not agree with my opponents' opinion. Sightseeing has to be an enjoyable activity and not a scientific project. By putting too much effort into it, you can ruin the joy and thrill.

To sum up, although there are different opinions on whether a person has to prepare for his or her sightseeing experience, I still believe that it does not need any preparation.
