First of all, in this case students pay more attention to the subject and grasp the material more efficiently. Moreover, interesting lessons encourage students to delve further into the subject and find out more on their own by choice. Eventually, the relationships in the class become closer if the teacher keeps the students’ interests and concerns in mind.
However, some people argue that teachers have to control the students and be rigid to them. They say that pupils are not able to manage their time on their own as they are lazy and get distracted easily. They also think that freedom means the loss of discipline, which entails poor results.
As for me, I disagree with this opinion. I believe that the approach to teaching should be friendly and as personalized as possible. Such teaching methods get students interested in the subject (inspire the students/arouse the students’ interest), so they don’t divert their attention from their main activity. Anyway, young people have to learn the self-discipline someday, and school years are the best time for it.
In summary, being strict to students, implementing authoritative approach and making them study under compulsion is not that hard. However, such attitude doesn’t make them feel like studying. On the contrary, making learning enjoyable for students takes a lot of effort, but it’s worth it.
