It has been widely discussed in recent years whether literature loses popularity among the children. Some people claim that pupils are still keen on reading fiction while others hold a different point of view.

In my opinion, it is true that children are not interested in lassical literature anymore. There are several reasons why I think so. Firstly, I think that reading was replaced by the Internet for children. Adolescents sure that there is no thing which is more attractive for them than the Internet. ( social networks, online games and forums ) What is more, our world has (nowadays there are) many ways of spending time instead reading fiction. For example, visiting theatre, museums, concerts and going to cinema.

On the other hand, it is often thought by many people that children are still interested in reading fiction.

Firstly, they claim that teenagers should read a lot of books during studying in school because it is necessary to pass an (the) exams. Secondly, children read books using their gadgets such as a smartphone or computer. They are able to find a great media library in the Internet and it makes reading easier.

However, I disagree with a statement mentioned above. Pupils often read different science articles and students books when imaginative literature loses its value for them.

esides, majority of teenagers do not use the Internet to read literature. They prefer surfing the Internet, watching funny videos or chatting with friends using social media networks.

In conclusion, I am convinced that literature lost its value in modern society and became less popular among the teenagers.
