Nowadays, more and more adolescents are working in animal rescue shelters, nursing homes or food pantries to support volunteerism and help those, who are in need. Some people believe that all representatives of the younger generation should be involved in this movement. Others argue that volunteering is not favorable for teenagers, as it requires a lot of effort and time.

In my opinion, it is beneficial for youngsters to become volunteers. Firstly, it is a good opportunity to gain useful experience for your future job and develop valuable skills. For example, children can learn how to work in a team, resolve problems and make sensible decisions. In addition, according to statistics, teenagers who are engaged in community services tend to be more responsible and sociable. Furthermore, adolescents can increase their awareness of global problems.

This way they can realize how important volunteerism is for flora, fauna and humanity in general.

However, there is an opposing point of view. Some people claim that teenagers are too busy with their homework and extra-curricular activities to do volunteering.

Even though, it might be true, but I do not support this opinion. Children can volunteer on holidays, when they have no school lessons. Moreover, it can be favourable for their resume, as many educational institutions encourage volunteerism.

All things considered, I am convinced that volunteering is necessary for youngsters. It can help them to express themselves in both, professional and personal contexts. Besides, it allows adolescents to be involved in the process of making our world a better place to live.
