There is a widespread opinion that music and art classes should be given more attention by school students. However, some people disagree with this statement.

In my opinion, students often lack a serious approach to Fine Arts at school and they should improve.

First of all, it is important for every person to have a diverse knowledge of every subject. It has been proven that the information received during school lessons can often turn out to be useful later in one’s life.

Additionally, alongside other major school subjects, namely math or literature, arts and music offer an opportunity to develop different skills and traits such as, for example, creativity. This is not only helpful in one’s personal life but is also often valued by employers as people with a range of diverse skills make the most efficient workers.

However, some people point out that the time spent on learning such subjects as arts would be used with more efficiency if redistributed to the subjects of a student’s specialization.

I cannot agree with this opinion as I think that secondary school students will spend enough time studying their subjects of choice in high schools and universities.

To conclude, I would like to say that every secondary school student should start paying more attention to such classes as art and music or, if the previous is not possible, try to compensate it by self-education and doing their own research in these fields.
