It's difficult to overestimate the significance of spending spare time. Some people say that a city is a fabulous place to spend free time; others claim that it is better to do it in the country.
In my opinion, spending leisure time in the city is better than in the country. I have several reasons to support my position. Firstly, the city gives us a great opportunity to do hobbies as all ways to spend spare time are available. To begin with, if you want to paint the town red, there is a large variety of clubs and you can choose the nearest or the best one. Secondly, there is a wide range of sport grounds, swimming pools, courts, parks, theatres, cinemas, shopping malls, clubs, courses, cafes and restaurants, spas and so on in every district catering all tastes, which help people to beat stress and negative emotions, to unwind after work or to hang out with friends at the weekends.
However, there is another position.
Some people say that countryside is the best place to spend leisure time as it can be quite expensive and people can’t afford doing their hobbies in the city. In the country you can go to the forest and breathe fresh air, swim in the river or a lake, go fishing, pick up flowers, berries and mushrooms, gardening and enjoy splendid views of nature.
Taking into account the reasons introduced above, I still disagree with them as I strongly believe that a city is the most wonderful place to spend free time as there exist a good many of courses, sport clubs, museums, cinemas, which are much cheaper than others or even absolutely free. Besides, many people get used to live in the modern cities as they prefer self-education to visiting marvellous places and breathing fresh air.
To sum it up, though there are two points of view on this problem, I think that a city is the best place to practice my skills, because there is a great diversity of clubs and courses to do it.
