The question of medical care payment has been currently important and unsettling during many years and, nowadays, it is still a never-ending debate. Some people consider that medical services should be free and available to all as being provided by the government, while others claim that we should have to pay for the medical help we use.
As far as I am concerned, free medical care support is one of the initial governmental functions. First of all, the government collects enough money from taxes paid by every citizen to finance the most important medical facilities.
Besides, it is not affordable to pay medical expenses for the large part of the home population. I would like to stress that neglectful attitude toward the problem of healthcare may have many drawbacks for the state as, for example, critical epidemic status.
However, some people think that we should pay for the medical services. They are sure that medical care is the same commodity as all the others we buy every day. Furthermore, some governments face a limited budget, so it is impossible for them to invest enough money in the medical field.
At the same time, I am sure that the aim of a welfare state is to provide enough high-quality medical services.
As a conclusion, it is important to emphasize that even in a situation of a budget shortfall the government should absorb some investment and help poor segments of the population in the medical care area.
