Money was invented ages ago as means of payment for goods or services. Everything depends on money in our modern world. We use it to go to the cinema, to buy things, to travel, to enjoy life and make it more comfortable. In shops we can pay in cash or by credit card. Credit cards are very convenient means of payment. They are flat and compact so we don’t need to carry around a lot of banknotes and coins in our purses or wallets, which might be dangerous nowadays. There’s also one more way to buy things now and pay for them later. It is by means of a cheque.

Countries of the world have different kinds of money which is called currency. In our country it is ruble. American currency is dollar. In UK it is pound and in China it is Jena. But for the majority of European countries such as Spain, Germany, Italy or France it is euro.

Lately the exchange rate of dollar has increased, which has also caused inflation in our country.

There are a lot of ways to get money. Most people work hard to earn it, others are just lucky and win on the lottery. Some also can inherit the money from some relative.

People have different attitude to money. Some can be savers while others are spenders. I am a saver, it means I’m good with money, I never waste it on things I don’t need. I always have some pocket money, but I don’t forget to have some fun, too! For example, I can spend it on a bar of chocolate, a cake, some ice cream or I can buy tickets to the cinema or rent a bike in the park.
