Over the last few years, the question of eating genetically modified food has aroused intense debate. Some people believe that GMFs affects people negatively, while others do not agree with their point of view.

In my opinion, genetically modified food has beneficial effect on people’s life. Firstly, with the help of genetic engineering people can create pest-resistance plants. It means that it is no need to use pesticides which are harmful to human’s health. Secondly, GMFs can be enriched with vitamins and nutrients. Thus, it helps to do away with malnutrition as even people in the developing countries are able to get the necessary amounts of minerals and vitamins without wasting too much money on food.

However, some people think otherwise.

The opponents of the above view are convinced that genetically modified food has a negative impact on people’s health. They say that transgenic foods can cause an allergic reaction as genetic engineering uses materials that have never been part of human diet.

Nevertheless, I cannot agree with the above argument. Scientists around the world have already conducted multiple studies on GMFs and it has been proved that such food is safe for humans. Moreover, they have found that genetically modified food can even fight diseases in certain circumstances.

To sum up, I am firmly convinced that people can benefit from GMFs, even though there are different points of view on this problem. It can help to meet many people’s needs and solve some problems in a more efficient way.
