Nowadays, the issue of the possibility of making and using forgeries in art is very controversial. Some people think that fakes can transform and diversify the original, without deforming a unique specimen. Others believe the distribution of counterfeits reduces the relevance of the work of art.

In my personal opinion, using the fakes may have many positive aspects. Firstly, replacing the original with a forgery can protect a unique thing from damaging. Secondly, а quality duplicate often popularizes the original. For example, a good cover of a little-known song attracts attention to its initial arrangement. Thirdly, making copies of famous exhibits allows them to be moved and demonstrated in different parts of the world without harm to the works.

This let people get acquainted with the masterpieces of world culture.

However, there is another point of view on this problem. Some people believe fakes are always worse than the original and they only spoil the work of art. In addition, making forgeries violates copyrights and can cause confusion.

Despite my respect for this opinion, I cannot share it because a high-quality creative copy raises the popularity of the initial idea, attracts new spectators to it.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the issue of pros and cons of using forgeries is still to be discussed. As far as I am concerned, copies of famous works of art play an important practical role and often popularize the originals.
