40.2 It is a good idea to pay kids for doing household chores (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

Nowadays, the topic of encouraging children with money appears to be controversial. Some people believe that paying children for their domestic duties is an interesting though, while others state the opposite. Now I am going to look upon this matter from my perspective.

As far as I am concerned, it is a good idea to pay children for their household duties. Firstly, children will understand that is not easy to earn money and they will value it. Secondly, one will be able to spend money, as he or she wants and there will be no need to ask parents for the pocket money.

However, there are some people who do not share my point of view. They believe that children should not be paid for doing household chores. My opponents are sure that it is children’s direct duty to clean the house or to help parents with cleaning, consequently, this work does not need to be paid.

Nevertheless, despite the respect to my opponents’ opinion, I still cannot agree with it.

The fact is that children are not borned to do the cleaning. Paying money for helping with household duties is a way to encourage children, therefore, they will have a motivation to do the cleaning for themselves.

Considering the above-mentioned fact, I would like to reaffirm my adherence to the position that paying children for their home chores is a good idea.
