There is no doubt that having friends is important for a person. There are a lot of books and films dedicated to this topic. Some people think that friendship is the most valuable thing in life, whereas others do not agree with them.

In my opinion, friendship is indeed one of the most significant values. Firstly, mates can support a person in bad times. They will be around no matter the situation. For example, they can give advice on how to overcome the difficulties that he or she has. Moreover, friends are good for social improvement. For instance, if a person needs to learn how to cope with diffidence and social anxiety, he or she will adept at the skill of communication with the friends' assist.

Consequently, one acquires self-confidence.

However, some people claim that friendship is not the greatest thing at all. They say that family and career is more significant for one.

Nevertheless, I cannot agree with this opinion. I think that friendship is actually the core of every relationship. That is why a person who stays lonely and does not have friends will find it hard to live in people. He or she probably will have problems with co-workers and also with personal life.

To sum up, I strongly believe that without friends life would be dull and meaningless. Friendship is important because it provides benefits and social support.
