It is believed that studying comics during the literature lessons is a good idea. Some people are absolutely sure about their benefits for student’s mind, whereas others mention that reading them at school can create various problems.
In my opinion, teachers should not practically use comics as the main topic of their literature classes because they can have a bad effect on students’ intelligence. Firstly, it is undeniable that most of the character’s replicas in comics are too short so primary school students do not have an opportunity to read big texts. Obviously, the amount of words used by children is supposed to decrease. Secondly, most of the current comics are about unreal superheroes so students do not ponder about such an important things like poverty, globalization and consequences of war.
Nevertheless, other people say that studying comics has some pluses for students, too.

For instance, with the help of comics, children who are not keen on reading have a great opportunity to adore books. Colourful pictures, funny replicas and the concept of comics itself will be definitely loved by many students and later they will decide to read some serious books.
Despite my respect for this opinion, I cannot share it because I think that reading comics at school is not the only way to enjoy reading. Undoubtedly, there are many other books written specially for children that tell us funny stories loved by them.
In conclusion, I would like to stress that comics are not worth to be read at literature classes because they do not promote children’s educational progress.
