Plan:
1. Opening: project on popular social media among Zetland teens.
2. Facts: Facebook 42%, YouTube 23%, WhatsApp 21%.
3. Comparisons: Facebook leads vs TikTok (11%), Telegram least popular (3%).
4. Problem: cyberbullying; solution: reporting tools + awareness.
5. Conclusion: social media important for connection but needs safe use.
The project I am working on investigates what social media sites are most popular among teenagers in Zetland. Recent opinion poll results provide interesting insights into their preferences.
According to the pie chart, Facebook dominates the market with 42%, making it the most widely used platform.
However, using social media can lead to serious problems, such as cyberbullying. Teenagers may face offensive comments, exclusion, or pressure to fit in online. One effective solution is to encourage active moderation and use built-in reporting tools. Schools and parents should also teach digital literacy and how to block harmful users.
In my opinion, social media is very important for teenagers today because it helps them build friendships, express creativity, and access information. Without it, many would feel isolated from their peers. Nevertheless, its importance must be balanced with responsible use. Protecting mental health and privacy should always come first. When used wisely, social media can be a powerful tool for growth rather than a source of harm. That is why learning safe online habits is as crucial as the platforms themselves.
