Nowadays there is no consensus as to whether or not students should do their homework. Some learners think that one can do his homework only if they have a desire to, while others claim that homework is a mandatory requirment.

In my opinion, a compulsory home task is a more beneficial option. Firstly, students can repeat theory for one more time and understand material better, enhancing all that they have learned during class hours. Otherwise, they will most likely forget new information. Secondly, homework gives students extra practice which is crucial for comprehension and memorization. Finally, homework makes students more responsible and disciplined and gives them a strict plan of studying.

However, some people hold an opinion that homework should be optional.

They say that modern teenagers do not have enough time to do homework as they often have extracurricular activities after school. Thus, home tasks interfere with students' busy schedules, taking a lot of time. In addition, they say that homework is useless and teenagers gain nothing from this.

Nevertheless, I do not support the second opinion. Everyone should understand that additional classes are optional, while studying is primary. Thus, homework is an essential part of learning. Moreover, I believe that those, who do not want to do their homework are lazy. As the proverb says, "Where there is a will, there is a way".

In conclusion, it is a matter of choice to do or not to do homework, however I do think that students often need a repetition of learned information and, therefore, homework is a vial part of education.
