People have become more intelligent because of the Internet (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

With the emergence of the Internet the debate over its influence on people’s brain has intensified. It is popularly believed that people are becoming less intelligent and narrow-minded because of technology. Some people argue that the Internet is a good invention for help people in the development their mind and the expansion of knowledge.

I strongly believe that people have more intelligent and sharp because of the Internet. There are many things to be said in favour of this idea. Firstly, we can find a lot of fascinating educational resources on the Internet. For example, a variety of online courses on any topic and cognitive workshops, digital library and interactive scientific journals. This way of study is more convenient for busy people because you can fit them around your life.

Secondly, we have a quick and easy access to the information we need. So, we can satisfy your curiosity and expand our horizons without spending a lot of effort and time. What is more, the Internet makes education accessible for people with disabilities and to remote areas, for example, small village. They can get good quality education without any need to leave their houses to go to school or university.

However, some people claim that humans have become less intelligent and unable to think independently due to the Internet. To their way of thinking, people are depended on the Internet and technology a lot. Humans do not need a good memory and creative mind. So, for this reason the brain works less and worse.

I cannot agree with the above idea as these people fail to understand that we are improving other useful skills and knowledge using the Internet. For example, communicative skills, critical thinking, reading skills and concentration.

Taking everything into consideration, it seems to me that the Internet helps people develop their intelligence, train their brain and broaden the mind. To my mind, our generation, which has grown in the era of the Internet and cloud technologies, is no less smart, creative and talented than the previous ones.
