In today’s world the problem of smoking causes great argument and controversy. Some people believe that the government should ban smoking while others do not agree with them.

My personal view is that smoking must not be so available for people as it is now and authorities should change the situation. To start with, smoking people damage their health and the population of healthy people in the country decreases. Furthermore, smoke affects the lives of people standing near smokers. Innocent people should not suffer. Additionally, the rubbish of cigarettes pollutes the environment highly.

However, there exists another point of view on this issue.

First of all, the government’s budget is refilled by taxes from smoking. Moreover, people living in democratic countries should decide themselves to smoke or not.

Despite my respect for this opinion, I cannot share it because children always try to look like adults and a lot of teenagers nowadays smoke. The government should care about the future of the nation and ban smoking. Besides, people become addicted. They need additional time at work to smoke and it reduces productiveness.

Taking into consideration all mentioned above, I must admit that smoking destroys people’s lives and if the government cares about its citizens, it must forbid smoking.
