You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen-friend Peter who writes:
…Reading books is my favourite pastime. Is reading important to you? Why? How do you like to spend your leisure time? What is your parents’ attitude to your hobbies and interests?
Yesterday was my father’s birthday…
Write a letter to Peter.
In your letter:
& answer his questions;
& ask 3 questions about his father’s birthday.
Write 100–140 words.
Remember the rules of letter writing
Thanks a lot for your letter. Great to hear from you again. Sounds cool that you’re keen on reading books.
Now to your questions. Personally, I can’t imagine my life without reading. Of course, I cannot do without books while studying, but at the same time fiction helps me to forget about my daily routine for some time. As a proverb goes: there’s no friend so faithful as a good book.
Speaking about my leisure time, there’s nothing like travelling for me. I definitely have itchy feet. Fortunately, my parents usually share my hobbies and travelling isn’t an exception. Our dream is a trip around the world together.
Congratulations to you father! Did you organize a birthday party for him? Were any guests invited? What presents did your father get? Anyway, I’ve to go now. Loads of homework. Do drop mea line.
