The Internet is believed to be an essential part of our life. But many people think that we spend too much time doing useless things in front of our computers. So, is the Internet the biggest evil of our time or not?

To tell the truth, the Internet is a great blessing, and I cannot imagine my life without the Internet. Firstly, it makes my whole life easier. For example, I can read online without going to the library or find the meaning of a new word in one click. Secondly, it helps me to keep in touch with my friends who live in other countries because it is very expensive to make long-distance phone calls. Moreover, I often use Internet resources to prepare for my school lessons: I search for information to make presentations, watch educational videos and text my teachers.

However, many people think that the Internet affects us badly.

They believe that nowadays we depend on online games and social networks which are useless for our intellectual development.

I am afraid, I cannot agree with such arguments because these services have many benefits. They help us to develop our communication skills and get some knowledge. Online games teach us how to work in a group.Moreover, we can also make new friends when using social networks.

To sum up, I strongly believe that the Internet is the biggest fortune of our time, not evil. Though there are people who are negative about the potential of the World Wide Web, it is certainly not my choice. For me the Internet is a wonderful tool in my life.
