There has always been much controversy as to whether graduates of universities have more opportunities to make a career or not. Many people think that it is impossible to have a good job without higher education, whereas others disagree with this point of view.
In my opinion, non-graduates have a risk to miss a great number of career opportunities. Firstly, students are more driven and motivated to succeed because universities create a competitive learning environment. Secondly, employers prefer experienced and highly qualified workers with higher education. Hence, non-graduates often cannot get a well-paid job without a diploma. Finally, students usually get practical skills which are valuable for their future job.
However, there are those who think that a path to success does not go through the university.
According to their opinion, a university degree will not help people to be successful if they are unambitious and do not want to study. Therefore, they will waste a great amount of their time. Additionally, graduates often cannot fulfill their potential and get a good job.
Despite this, I do not agree with these statements. Today higher education lets earn much money in future. What is more, at universities students can make useful social contacts or get a high qualification which will help them to succeed in life.
In conclusion, even though there are different points of view on this problem, I am inclined to believe that this kind of education has a profound impact on making a career.
