My dear grandmother,

How are you doing? Unfortunately, I haven't received any letters or phone calls from you for a long time. I hope you're doing well. I'm fine too, but I was very busy with my household chores and studying at school, so I'm really sorry that I didn't contact you. I know I haven't seen you for over three months, so I really miss you very much.

As for the news, I have something to tell you. As you know, I am in the 10th grade. I think it's great to be a high school student, but at the same time I'm a little sad that there are only two years left to study at school here before graduation, exams and adult life at the university come. This academic year I have several new disciplines and electives, such as astronomy, cultural studies and political science.

All these school subjects are quite difficult, but interesting and informative for me. I have already completed a month of study, but I have not received a single bad grade, and this makes me very happy. I hope that you will also be very happy with this pleasant news.

Another news that I want to tell you is that I have new hobbies. First of all, I started playing guitar. My parents gave it to me at the beginning of the summer for my birthday, and now I'm trying to learn how to play by watching video tutorials on the Internet and studying it in books. Secondly, I signed up for additional lessons to learn German. In my opinion, this is a very interesting and unusual foreign language. I think it will be useful to me in the future, as I want to go to visit my aunt in Germany for the next vacation. I am really very happy and I really like it.

Besides, I go to the gym in my free time. I am sure that sports are good for our physical health, and our body should always be fit and beautiful.
