Science is the first thing to be financed in the modern world 240 words (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

Nowadays, when the problem of the government’s financing for different spheres of society has become a matter of heated debates, some people suppose that there are many sectors which should be maintained. Still, others consider that science is in need of financial support more than something else.

Personally, I share the second opinion and, to my mind, science and technology are of paramount importance in the modern world. First and foremost, scientific discoveries and inventions move the progress and make a contribution to the development of the world community. Moreover, researches in academic sphere promote further successful elaborations in medicine, education, defence system and so on.

However, opponents of this point of view think that the first thing to be financially supported is social sphere. According to this perspective, global community has already reached the heights in science and should help needy people to live a decent living, as the poverty is the biggest issue nowadays.

Nevertheless, this argument does not sound reasonable enough due to the following assumption.

Generally, scientists are working on projects concerning global problems and have already found many solutions to them and therefore, science is the first sector that is necessary to maintain.

To sum up, although opinions may differ, I still strongly believe that scientific sphere is of utmost importance in the modern world and should be invested in. Personally, I even support the opinion that people ought to donate money for scientific developments.
