Some people believe that history is the most important subject, while others do not think so. In this essay, I will try to look upon this issue.

To my mind, history is not the subject of the greatest value at school. Firstly, it is vague and subjective. People often do not remember what they did yesterday, not to mention more distant dates and events. Their memories cannot be trusted. Secondly, every time when there is a change of power, the history is getting rewritten in order to serve the ones who rule.

However, there is an opinion that history is the most important subject. Some people believe it is important to study history to not make the same mistakes as people did in the past.

Despite sounding rational, I cannot agree with that point of view because even when people know the history, they still stay human and make the same mistakes. Knowing about how bad is the war, unfortunately, does not prevent them from starting one.

To summarize, I would like to say that history is not the most important school subject and should not be given too much attention.
