I am doing a project on why Zetland teenagers visit museums, and as part of my project I have found some results of a relevant survey presented in a table. In this essay I am going to analyze the data and express my opinion on the topic of the research. The survey was conducted among Zetland teenagers.
According to the diagram, the most common response to the survey question "Why do you visit museums?" is "To study various school subjects" opted for by 30% of Zetland teenagers. The option of "To go on school trips" has the middle position in the table with 18 of those polled, following by "To enjoy art", accounting for 15%.
Notably, the figure for the option "To learn about the past" (28%) is 2 times more popular than the one for "To escape from daily routine". This might be explained by the fact that museums are the best places where concentrated historical information, and there one can learn something unusal and new. As a way to avoid routine, teenagers usually prefer to go out with friends in a park.
Apart from the extensive variety of the museums, there are also some issues to consider. I have outlined one of the problems, which is overcrowding. In order to solve this problem, it is worth setting attendance by session. This will help to avoid queues and allow visitors to enjoy the exhibits and installations.
In conclusion, I am fully convinced that museums are of prime importance as they allow people to examine new information and broaden horizons.
