There are over 7000 languages spoken in the world. Nowadays many people are convinced that it is not worth wasting money on studying foreign language. Nevertheless, there are others who are against this point of view.

To my mind, there are lots of advantages to learning other languages. Firstly, it is a great opportunity to become an attractive candidate for many jobs because employers often prefer students with foreign language skills than those who have not got it. Secondly, you can travel around the world without interpreter as you may communicate with foreigners. Finally, you can become more intelligent because knowledge of any languages develop your memory and make your brain think out faster.

Anyway, some people argue that learning foreign languages is an unnecessary occupation.

To begin with, not all people can afford a trip abroad to improve one’s foreign speech as it is rather expensive. As is known, it is difficult to learn to speak without foreign atmosphere. Lastly, it requires a significant investment of your time and effort so you can overstrain and get illness.

I disagree with the statements given above. Firstly, there are courses guaranteeing you fluency in language by means of talking on the phone with native speakers being at home. Secondly, it has been appeared an alternative possibility to learn the language watching films with subtitles. Thus, you will not get tired.

In conclusion, despite some disadvantages of learning foreign languages, I am firmly convinced that it is worth spending money and time.
