Nowadays, the issue of the impact of computer games on teenagers causes great argument and controversy. Young people believe that this form of entertainment is useful and instructive. Adults think spending a lot of time in front of the computer screen is just a waste of time.

In my personal opinion, computer games negatively affect young people. Firstly, younger generation often prefers computer games to communication with real people, which makes them more closed and secretive. Secondly, children spend a lot of time playing computer games and may even neglect doing homework or reading books. Thirdly, there is a propaganda of alcohol, smoking and other bad habits in various games.

However, there is another point of view on this problem. Some teenagers believe this form of entertainment helps people relax and provides an instructive effect.

For example, virtual games develop the level of abstract thinking and logic. Moreover, a person can learn new information, such as foreign words or the location of geographic objects.

Despite my respect for this opinion, I cannot share it because often computer games give us nothing.

Besides, many entertaining games teach the child negative things: robbery, smoking, violence. Futhermore, such kind of information, as a rule, does not bear practical meaning and people quickly forget it.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the issue of pros and cons of computer games is still to be discussed. As far as I am concerned, this kind of entertainment does more harm than good. The younger generation should live in the real world and communicate with each other, rather than plunge into virtual reality.
