To begin with, I should say that nowadays there are different opinions about teenager’s pastime on summer holidays. Some people believe that vacations are best for relaxing, while others think that summer is a chance to improve knowledge. Let us speculate on this topic.

Speaking about me, I personally believe that it is better to take a break from studying in summer. I am going to present some arguments proving my point of view. Firstly, summer season is the best way for travelling with your family and friends and the weather is pleasant for it. Secondly, you have a plenty of free time for sport activities and helping your relatives in the garden. Moreover, you can go to a summer camp to make friends there and have fun.

However, there are people who take the opposite point of view.

According to their opinion, students have holidays in autumn, winter and spring that is why they should study on summer holidays, because they can forget all school program in three months.

I strongly disagree with their opinion. To my mind, other vacations during the school year are too short and students do not have an opportunity to travel and relax. Although some students may forget the material, they will be able to repeat it during the first month of school year.

In conclusion, I would like to say that there are different opinions on this topic, but I am sure that summer vacations is the best time to have a rest and forget about school.

1) speculate on this topic – discuss this topic [Слово speculate подразумевает рассуждения в условиях нехватки информации, т.е. своего рода построение догадок];

2) the best way for travelling – the best time for travelling [Намного уместнее сказать, что лето – это наилучшее время для путешествий, а не наилучший способ/путь];

3) will be able to repeat it – will be able to revise it [Глагол repeat не подходит для данного контекста, т.к. обозначает механическое копирование действия, а не повторение учебного материала].

К4 (грамматика) – 1 балл

1) about teenager’s pastime – about a teenager’s pastime / about teenagers’ pastime [Следует либо добавить артикль, либо поставить существительное во множественное число];

2) on summer holidays – during summer holidays [Следует произвести замену предлога];

3) Firstly, summer season – Firstly, the summer season [Желателен артикль];

4) have a plenty of free time – have plenty of free time [Артикль не нужен];

5) all school program – all the school program [Желателен артикль];

6) the first month of school year – the first month of the school year [Желателен артикль];

7) summer vacations is the best time – summer vacations are the best time [Использована неверная форма глагола be].

К5 (орфография и пунктуация) – 2 балла

winter and spring that is why – winter and spring, that is why [Следует поставить запятую].
